The Minority in Parliament on Tuesday evening staged a walkout to protest a directive by Speaker Alban Bagbin ordering Damongo MP Samuel Abu Jinapor out of the Chamber.

The drama started when Mr Jinapor, who is the Ranking Member on the Foreign Affairs Committee, alleged on the floor that Ghanaian diplomatic passports are being sold for GH¢50,000. Speaker Bagbin demanded that the Damongo legislator withdraw the statement because it was not backed by evidence.

Mr Jinapor declined to withdraw the allegation, despite the Speaker's assurance that he would be allowed to raise the matter again if he provided proof.Following his refusal, Speaker Bagbin ordered the Marshal of Parliament to escort the MP out.“Marshal, please carry out the orders immediately.

Honourable Abu Jinapor, please walk out of this place or you will be taken out,” the Speaker ordered.

Mr Jinapor was then seen packing his documents and walking out of the Chamber on his own.In solidarity with their colleague, other Minority MPs also walked out of the House in protest.
